METHODOLOGY FOR FORMING STUDENTS’ LEADERSHIP QUALITIES OF SERVICE AT AGRICULTURAL INSTITUTIONS OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION BASED ON U.S. EXPERIENCE

The article is devoted to the substantiation of the methodology for the formation of students’ leadership qualities of service at agricultural institutions of vocational education as a complex, systemic, algorithmic way of achieving the pedagogical goal, which includes target, methodological, content, operational, effective and control-corrective components. The methodology is presented both as a way of implementing the tasks of forming leadership qualities of service, and as a process that unfolds in space and time, which includes informational, motivational, activity, reflective stages, which involves the selection of appropriate methods, forms and techniques for implementing the tasks of forming leadership qualities of service in applicants of agricultural institutions of vocational education.
In the article, the methodology for the formation of students’ leadership qualities of service at agricultural institutions of vocational education is presented using the modeling method, which allowed to reflect its constituent elements in connections and dependencies within the framework of a holistic system. It is emphasized that the methodology for forming students’ qualities of service leadership at agricultural institutions of vocational education is determined by the current social need for training agricultural personnel with pronounced leadership abilities to serve humanity, the country, the organization, the economy, the economic and food needs of citizens of Ukraine, while adhering to the principles of sustainable development of society, decarbonization of production, and ensuring environmentally friendly products for consumers in agricultural management. The social need determines the target component that reflects the corresponding goal of forming students’ qualities of service leadership at agricultural institutions of vocational education with the consistent solution of tasks to provide information about the essence and examples of service leadership, actualization of needs in activities from the position of service leadership, creation of conditions for the formation of service leadership skills as the highest degree of manifestation of the formed internal psychological formations with their further self-improvement at the reflective stage.
The article presents the experience of the US Department of Agriculture in implementing the rural leadership training program, which was adopted when developing the content component of the methodology, and which is embodied in the program and youth movement called “4-H” (head, heart, hand, health) – values that correspond to the ideal of service leadership in agricultural production, when the head, heart, hands, and health serve the club, the community, the country and the world.
