The article highlights certain aspects of developing entrepreneurial competence of the head of a general secondary education institution within the framework of foreign experience. It is found that in the developed countries of Europe and the Euro-Atlantic Union, which have gone through the path of education reform and successfully apply the strategies of individual educational programs, the purposeful development of entrepreneurial competence contributes to the complete development of an individual who is ready to change and improve the conditions of their life, freely choose their life path taking into account aspirations, personal qualities, which helps to adapt the young generation to modern life.
Special attention is paid to the experience of Spain, Austria, and Finland regarding the problem of entrepreneurial competence of the head of a general secondary education institution. In the process of analytical activity, it is found that in the professional development programs operating in Spain, the entrepreneurial competence of school leaders involves the ability to create and manage a small business and show initiative in professional activities (intrapreneurship), promotes professional and personal development through their adaptation to innovative technologies, willingness to change, to have an open mind and to be autonomous.
It is summarized that education and development of entrepreneurial competence of school leaders in Austria is focused on business administration, where there is a consolidation and cross-linking of competences obtained in different clusters (for example, entrepreneurship, economics and management; personality and career planning; society and culture) to acquire holistic and integrative capacity.
Finnish experience of developing the entrepreneurial competence of secondary school leaders is thoroughly analyzed. Special attention is paid to active work in the Moodle online environment, where the course "Entrepreneurship for secondary school leaders" is hosted; joint online hackathons with the participation of educators and successful entrepreneurs in order to share experience regarding the peculiarities of conducting business activities; creation of virtual guides for entrepreneurial training.
